Born Pretty Embossed Metal Decals
Posted on 04:00 by Unknown
Embossed metal sticker decals from Born Pretty.
Gold swirls placed on top of Zoya Bevin.
This first set can be found here for $2.98. Option #1.
It's easy, just peel and stick. Apply topcoat if you choose.
You can tell from this angle I had some lifting on my pinky nail. I thought I had pressed the stickers down firmly enough, but after I applied topcoat, this happened.
Silver snowflakes. Part of a sheet with many other designs including hearts and flowers.
This set can be found here for $2.98. Option #3.
These were placed over Kleancolor Cobalt.
Again, I had problems with them lifting. This particular snowflake had been positioned on a fold, and it just popped right back up. For the partial snowflakes, I just cut them with nail clippers and applied with tweezers. You can also see little silver flecks, and that's because the topcoat seemed to drag some of the silver off. :( Overall, it's a unique set of decals, but I wish they stuck down better.

Natalie's Koi Fish
Posted on 04:00 by Unknown
These nails are inspired by this look from Natalie over at heartNAT. It's been pinned on my "nail art inspiration" board over on Pinterest for a while now. I don't have the same polishes she used, and I don't have the fancy koi fish image plate she has, but it's still pretty cool. :)
The polishes I used were:
Base of Orly Decades of Dysfunction. Then I sponged on - L'Oreal Macaroon Me Madly, China Glaze Flirty Tankini & Passion For Petals, & Zoya Ziv.
Then 1 coat of Essie Shine of the Times for an extra "fish-scale" vibe.
Then stamped M.A.S.H 39 with Konad black

Random Purple
Posted on 04:00 by Unknown
I've still been lacking in the nail art department lately.... Just not a lot of inspiration floating around at my house these days. I've got a couple of swatches and product reviews coming up, so maybe that can distract me enough to climb out of my creative block.
For this random look I did the other day I used the following things:
I did a gradient with Rimmel I Lilac You, Zoya Malia & Mira. Then stamped Konad m36 with China Glaze Millennium. Then one coat of China Glaze Fairy Dust for some tiny holographic glitters.

Geometric Squares
Posted on 04:00 by Unknown
I've been feeling a little down and like a nail blogger failure because I haven't had much of my own nail art inspiration. I feel like I'm in a creative block. :( So the only nail art I've been doing is inspired by other bloggers.
Today it was this look from Whitney at Dressed Up Nails.
I used China Glaze Lemon Fizz, For Audrey, & Zoya Dea.
All of the details were done with a skinny nail art brush.

Blue Floral Water Decals
Posted on 04:00 by Unknown
I finally used the other half of this set of water decals from Viva La Nails. I've had them since April 2011..... So check out the other half here and laugh at how my pictures have improved.
I used them over Zoya Kristen for a light vintage blue overall look.

Born Pretty - Round Glequins
Posted on 07:49 by Unknown
Hi guys! I have some more items from Born Pretty to show you today. I hope by now you've seen or heard of "glequins" before... I have several posts with the hex versions. Today though I have some ROUND ones from Born Pretty! I like having the ability to make perfectly sized polka dots! Check it out:
Left is the larger size, found for sale here, 12 colors for $7.60
Right is the mini size, found for sale here, same 12 colors for $7.60
Top is larger size, bottom is mini size. Individually placed in wet topcoat over Orly Snowcone.
Top is larger size, bottom is mini size. Individually placed in wet topcoat over Orly Snowcone.
I wanted to do super blingy/all over placement and this is what it looks like:
Painted my nails with Sally Hansen Celeb City as a base color.
These silver ones catch and reflect so many different colors! It's gorgeous!
Here I used them a different way. I painted my nails with Zoya Marley, then stamped black polish and Konad m79. Then placed the mini black round glequins as part of the pattern.
Don't forget that I have coupon code if you make a purchase from Born Pretty:

Disney Cars - Mater
Posted on 04:00 by Unknown
I couldn't do the movie Cars without featuring Mater! He's my favorite character from the movie!
I really like the plain nails that mimic the rusty antique metal.
Here's how I did it.
Paint nails with 2 coats of Essie Very Structured
Randomly sponge on Barielle Coco Bar, Zoya Dea, Essie Penny Talk, & Barielle Sweet Addiction.
Begin the outline for his eyes and mouth with black acrylic paint.
White acrylic paint.
I used a shimmery green matte polish for his eyes iris'. Then defined his back teeth with gray acrylic paint.
Add black pupils and a white shine spot, then topcoat the whole thing with Seche Vite.

Zoya - FeiFei
Posted on 04:00 by Unknown
This polish had a lot of chatter about it's uniqueness. It's nothing like any other polish in my stash.
Pictured is 2 coats. It could have potentially used a third...
Is it blue? purple? gray? I can't decide! It's just a gorgeous glitter blend!

Zoya - Malia
Posted on 04:00 by Unknown
Random Zoya swatch and comparison. This is Zoya Malia, just a light/medium purple creme finish.
Pictured is 2 perfect, easy to apply coats.
A comparison to show it next to China Glaze Gothic Lolita & China Glaze Spontaneous.
Malia is a near dead on dupe to Spontaneous...
