Tammy Taylor Matte Neon Plush Glitters

Tammy Taylor sent me some cool new products to try. These are glitters that are matte so you can use them for a 3D textured effect. Once they are available on their website, I'll update with a link here.

Pink, Kiss, & Squeeze

I applied them by sprinkling it on top of a still wet topcoat layer. I faded them together into a gradient look.

Pink is a straight up neon pink (blue toned)

Pink fading into Kiss then Kiss fading into Squeeze

Kiss is a more red toned pink 

Squeeze is just neon orange.

You can see the texture better from this angle. They are quite coarse to the touch. These aren't meant to be worn with topcoat layered on top. It would probably take 3 coats or more to smooth it out anyway.

I wore these over Color Club Wham! Pow!, Warhol, & Poptastic. They were the perfect pairs.

The remains that overflowed onto the paper plate as I sprinkled. This shows you just how tiny the particles are. It reminds me of the size of particles in Floam.

Nails Inc - Leather Effect - Noho (black)

This kit includes a unique matte/leather effect nail polish, studs, crystal skull embellishments, and crystal rhinestones. Very rockstar! The kit also includes nail glue and 2 wooden cuticle sticks.

This kit can be found for sale here on Sephora's website for $25.

The polish applies very easily. I found I got the best "leather" effect with 2 thin coats. When I used thicker coats, the particles didn't show a texture as well. It's like they got lost the more polish I used.

 Then I added some of the crazy cool rhinestones and embellishments from the kit.

I'm afraid the big crystal skull would not have any practical wear time because it's simply too flat. My nail beds are curved and any little thing could have snagged it off.

I also painted it on one of my cousins that was in town for the weekend and used some gold circle studs that I had lying around. You can see the difference here in how you apply the polish. The hand on top was with thin coats, the hand on the bottom ended up being with slightly thicker coats and that polish has a much glossier look and less textured.

Pure Ice - Velour Finish Collection - Part 2

Hey guys! I managed to find some more of the Pure Ice "suedes" at my local Walmart. I can't seem to find an exact number of how many polishes are in this collection. Do y'all have any links for me?

Pure Ice - Velour Finish Collection - Part 1

Pure Ice managed to come up with a similar matte finish to the OPI "suedes!" I did hear that it's a limited edition only available in Walmart. So scope out your local stores!

Draped - 2 coats

 I applied topcoat to just the middle nail so you can see how it's beautiful either way.

Touch Me Softly - 2 coats

This one is my favorite!

Again, just topcoat to the middle nail to compare. Gorgeous!

Crushed - 2 coats

Over The Top - 2 coats

Topcoat to the middle nail.

Crushed and Over The Top might look similar, but one is a lighter yellow gold. The other is almost copper, or a warm orange gold.

Stone Cold Ruffian

This is my first time to attempt a Ruffian manicure and it went very well actually! 

I started by painting my nails with 2 coats of Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Celeb City.

Then I used the brush from the bottle of China Glaze Stone Cold to form the Ruffian manicure. I started by just painting it like I normally do with my nails starting at the cuticle (in this case a distance from the cuticle) and brushing toward the free edge. Then to perfect the Ruffian line, I found it best to go back with a 2nd coat and turn my same brush (from the bottle) perpendicular to my nail, and go sideways and straighten the line. I hope that makes sense. Lol

What do you think about the Ruffian? Love it? Or leave it?

China Glaze - Stone Cold

This is from China Glaze's Hunger Games collection. I recently decided to read the books myself to see what all of the hype was about. They must be good, right? Well they are! I read all 3 books in about 4 days time.... So I'm excited to see how the movie turns out. :) This the only polish I bought from the collection though, it's the only one I found interesting. 

Stone Cold is a matte charcoal gray polish with silver shimmer.

The extra special magical part is that it's a true one coater! I can see that it might thicken with age, like most mattes, but it's already pigmented enough to cover in one easy coat. And it dries fast (but not too fast).

The shimmer comes alive after topcoat is applied. So if you like a shiny look, it's great for that too. It's a polish you can get many different looks from!

I prefer it with it's original matte finish myself, it's just too special the way it is!
