Silky Polish – “Polish with a Conscience”, and it’s conscious in every sense of the word – 5-free, nontoxic and healthier-for-you, vegan, cruelty free, and packaged with eco-friendly materials. These polishes are for sale on their website for $12.50 per 15mL bottle.
I had not heard of this brand before, but I was excited to try it out. :)
I was sent Twill Sea, J'aime Jacquard, & Egyptian Samite.
Twill Sea is a gorgeous creme shade of teal. Pictured below is ONE coat. That's right. Only ONE COAT. The formula was very pleasant to work with and it glided on with ease. I did a glitter gradient on 2 accent nails using Shimmer Polish Linna.
Each polish bottle has a sweet little quoat on the label under the name.
J'aime Jacquard is a hot pink with fine silver shimmer. Again, JUST ONE COAT!
My mind was blown.
Egyptian Samite was difficult to photograph. It's a rich, deep shade of purple. My pictures came out a bit too blue, but you can see the purple better in a little bit. This was 2 coats. The first coat went on very well, but it had a few streaky spots, so another coat evened it out.
Since they were all so opaque I figured they must be good for stamping... And they are! Here they each are over Sinful Colors Snow Me White. This is the picture that best shows that Egyptian Samite is in fact purple, and not blue. :) I used the paw print image from the Mash-36 plate.
My final thoughts? These are great polishes. The formula is superb! They apply with ease. The color selection leaves a bit to be desired, but some of them are quite unique. Are they worth the price tag? I'm hesitant to spend more than $8 for any nail polish because I simply can't justify it when I buy sooo much polish.
