BLOG SALE!

Posted on 08:33 by Unknown
Mama needs some new shoes. Well, more like Mama needs to pay the mortgage this month. I'm sure you can relate. ;) All of these polishes for sale, were purchased with my own money or given to me by family. I NEVER sell anything that has been sent to me for review. That's just not right.

If you're interested, email me at polishartaddiction@gmail.com with the polishes you want and your mailing address. First come, first served. Shipping is $3.00 for the first bottle and $0.50 for each additional bottle. I don't mind doing international shipping, but you'll have to wait for me to get a quote according to your address.
Payment through PayPal
With each name I will link to where a proper swatch photo can be found here on my blog. Most of these have only been used once or twice, but I will mark a line on the photos where each polish level is at. All polishes are full sized.

China Glaze Texture - Itty, Bitty, & Gritty

Posted on 06:53 by Unknown
I recently purchase one of the China Glaze Texture collection because it was on clearance at my local Sally's Beauty Supply. It's nice, but I'm just not a fan of the texture trend.

Pictured is 2 thin coats. Thin coats work best in order to get even texture coverage.Fairly easy to work with, just not really my thing.

Born Pretty Swarovski Rhinestone

Posted on 11:09 by Unknown
These rhinestones are available HERE at Born Pretty. 144 count for $7.27.
Each rhinestone is 2.6mm in diameter.

The polishes I used are Zoya Marley & Malia, then China Glaze Millennium to stamp the image from BM-204. I placed the rhinestone while my topcoat was still wet.

They are beautifully faceted, so they really catch the light and shine. Great quality compared to the dull flat silver rhinestones I've bought previously on eBay.

Studs & Stripes

Posted on 04:30 by Unknown
These were inspired by a look I found on Pinterest (HERE)
I used China Glaze Too Yacht To Handle, Lime Crime Milky Ways, & Zoya Ziv.
The different gold studs are from a mixed wheel found HERE at Born Pretty.

Neon Studs

Posted on 04:30 by Unknown
These studs were sent to me to review by Born Pretty.
Found HERE for $3.59. I believe these are #1, neon yellow. Although in one of their stock photos it looks like it could almost be #9, neon green.... Sorry but I'm not sure.

Here I used them in a fairly simple color block look.
The polishes I used are China Glaze Sunday Funday & That's Shore Bright.

They apply easily onto a layer of still-wet topcoat.
Nice and small so they don't catch and snag on things.

Don't forget the coupon code.

Born Pretty - Faux Acrylic Bows

Posted on 16:20 by Unknown
This is an interesting product available from Born Pretty. It gives the appearance of sculptured acrylic, but in reality it's a silicone product! The cute looks without having to know how to work with acrylic. (Which I certainly am not experienced in.)
Here I used them over a manicure of Essie Carousel Coral.
I just applied the flexible bows when my topcoat was wet. I did have to hold them down while it dried because the edges wanted to pop up when I didn't.

They are mostly white with coral tinted centers. Some have little bits of the silicone remaining around the edges, it's not a crisp bow. But that is easily resolved with some cuticle nippers because the material cuts aways easily.
Can be found HERE for $17.55 for 500 bows.

Was sent for review by Born Pretty Store. If you're thinking of buying these, don't forget to use my coupon code:

Born Pretty Pearl Rhinestones

Posted on 04:00 by Unknown
Here are 2 looks I did using the pearl-like rhinestones that are available through Born Pretty. The wheel contains 3 varying sizes of pearls with flat backs. (HERE for $2.99)

The polishes for this first look are Sally Hansen Green Tea, China Glaze Dance Baby & Laced Up.  Also Kiss nail art striper in white.

This second look used theBalm Coral Reef-ined for french tips with a full accent nail of pearls.

I found these worked well without much difficulty. My only complaint is that the pearly finish rubs off quickly. With any scratch or wear to exposed portions, the shimmery finish is removed and leaves behind just a dull opaque white. :( Perhaps if used in conjunction with a clear gel topcoat? Maybe then the finish would be protected for longer? Just a thought.

Don't forget my coupon code if you're interested in buying from Born Pretty

Cute & Sweet

Posted on 08:22 by Unknown
This is a look utilizing the QA37 image plate available at Born Pretty.
(HERE for $1.99)

It has several different cute words, bows, and a lil birdie. I just randomly stamped the images over a base of white with the following polishes sponged on:
China Glaze Lemon Fizz, That's Shore Bright
theBalm Sky Blue Right Past You
Color Club Twiggie, Lazer Pink

Great quality plate for a great price! I've been so pleased with each Born Pretty plate I've tried. If you decide to buy, don't forget my coupon code:

Poptastic Leopard

Posted on 04:00 by Unknown
Well 2 out of the 3 polish I used are from the Color Club Poptastic Collection.
Color Club Almost Famous, & Poptastic. The purple is China Glaze That's Shore Bright.
I first did each nail as a gradient, and then freehanded leopard spots on top alternating what colors I used.
I used a dotting tool to make the leopard spots and then a Sinful Colors black striper polish for the outlines.

Pink, Gray, & Chevron

Posted on 04:00 by Unknown
Inspired by a Pinterest find of course. This one. Chevron nails are sooo easy with the zigzag craft scissors. The perfectionist in me doesn't like freehanding them because I can't get the lines crisp enough.

The colors I used are:
China Glaze Something Sweet
Sally Hansen Celeb City topped with 3 coats of China Glaze Fairy Dust
Essence Movie Star, masked off with tape then Sally Hansen Whirlwind White.
